The Alamo & Riverwalk in San Antonio

Justin and I decided to go to San Antonio for the night just to get away last weekend. I don't know why we can't just relax when we're home, but there is always so much to do. We drove down early Saturday morning, checked into the beautiful Hotel Valencia, and had lunch on the river before heading to the Alamo. Justin was very excited about the Alamo. He started telling me all the history I thought I needed to know, and then proceeded to a tent where we got head sets for an audio tour! Way too much information for me, but I was happy that Justin was enjoying the tour. The Alamo grounds were very pretty and well kept. After about an hour and a half of Alamo history, we walked around, shopped a bit, and enjoyed some drinks around the area. We ate dinner on the river at a wonderful italian restaurant. Justin had steak and shrimp and I had lobster alfredo-both amazing! After dinner we walked down to a little sports bar and watched the basketball game. We had a wonderful weekend just the two of us, but our girls were very happy to have us back home!

Melissa & Greg's Wedding

Another wonderful weekend here in Austin celebrating a McCoy wedding. We started with lunch at Z Tejas on Friday- beautiful luncheon with all the girls. Aunt Kathy and her daughters seemed very calm and well put together for planning such a big wedding! After lunch, we met up with the boys at the pool. We soaked up the sun, enjoyed a couple drinks and made a plan for the evening. After getting ready, we met up at the hotel to take a bus to Thurman's Mansion for the rehearsal dinner. Although the food was delicious, I was definitely ready to head home and get some much needed sleep! The next morning started out early with golf for the guys and breakfast/errands for the girls. Cindy, Kelly and I ate lunch by the pool and then headed out to get our hair & make-up done. The ceremony was beautiful and the bride was stunning! The reception was at the Four Seasons Hotel off the lake downtown. It was nothing less than a "platinum wedding"! Martinis, mojitos, crab legs, and beef tenderloin guarantees a happy crowd. We enjoyed the family and danced the night away! My favorite part of the entire weekend was when there was a dance-off originally between Dallas and Austin. However, Aunt Kathy took Melissa out on the dance floor, Elizabeth joined in and then Uncle Matt ran in-and the wedding guests circled around their family. It was definitely something they will remember forever! Beautiful wedding and wonderful weekend with the entire family.
