Happy Halloween!

Another wonderful weekend. I'm attempting to post this as LOTS of trick-or-treaters are ringing the door bell. I bought lots of good candy expecting to have some left over for us, but I don't think that's going to be the case. In fact, I think we're about to have to turn the porch light off. I guess we should have estimated more kids considering we live about ten houses away from the elementary school!
Friday night we had a Halloween Margarita Mixer at Sugar Creek and Justin played- it was a blast! We dressed up as referees and threw our penalty flags when a ball was out or blew the whistle if we disagreed with a call! The costumes were quite elaborate, so we'll have to step up our game in the costume department for next year. I forgot my camera, so no pictures from tennis. However, the following night we played in the Monster Mash golf tournament. Our team of four was all McCoys! Terry and Cindy dressed up as baseball players and Justin and I repeated our referee attire, almost as good as the night before.

We tee'd off at 4:30 and played through twilight as a "shamble" and then met everyone at the half-way house for fajitas and drinks. The club decorated it with lots of lights, glow-in-the-dark stuff, smoke machine and scary music! It looked great. Then the pros handed out our glow-balls and mandatory glow-in-the-dark necklaces. They explained the rules which included absolutely no lights allowed (flashlights, golf cart lights, etc).
The night golf was a scramble. It was SOOOO much fun! It was very hard to even hit the ball, and figure out how to hit it since the glow balls didn't hit like real golf balls. After 5 1/2 hours of golf total, we finally finished and met at the 19th Hole Bar to turn in our scores. We ended up getting SECOND place as a team, which was a gift certificate! We had such a good time and we will definitely be playing in it again next year.

Here's a few pics for mom- the yard still looks pretty good, although it has been in the upper 80's and no rain, so a little dry.

Sugar Creek CC Sweet Shot 2010

This past weekend was the Sugar Creek Member-Guest Tennis and Golf Tournament, "Sweet Shot 2010". It was Justin's first time to ever play and he loved it! I played in the spring tennis Member-Guest with Tricia and loved it, but this event was on a much larger scale. The events started on Thursday with a round of golf for the guys and then dinner, betting, and dancing. While the guys were upstairs in the formal room, the wives were outside mingling, wine tasting and enjoying good food and martinis! The dancing began with all the girls and shortly after, the husbands came down to join in. It was SO MUCH fun, although I was the youngest wife there by twenty years, no joke. Friday morning Justin left for golf nice and early and I had my first match at 8:30. I played in the tournament with Darlene, the pro's girlfriend and she was so sweet! It was a nice change to be there just to have fun and not be so competitive! There was food and drinks all day, loud music and lots of people. They had raffles throughout the weekend. They even had an exhibition Friday night with pros on tour! Justin and his cousin Greg played together and started off very strong! Friday afternoon the wives had a golf scramble that I had signed up for, but had to pull out of last minute due to my sprained wrist. I figured I would rather injure it playing tennis that golf! Cindy and Aunt Kathy actually ended up getting third place! Saturday was filled with more tennis, games, golf, and then a quick run home and shower before the formal night. Wonderful dinner, casino and dancing (mostly the tennis crowd) at the club until late. It was a blast and we look forward to next year's event!!!

Clay Walker & Fort Worth

September was busy. Justin received four VIP tickets to Clay Walker, so we decided to make a long weekend out of it with Kelly and John. We went up to the Woodlands, stayed in a nice hotel, ate lots of great food and enjoyed a wonderful show by Clay Walker. I haven't listened to country music in well over two years, but somehow I knew every song he sang! It was so much fun...

While Justin was out of town enjoying the game in person, I met up with Kelly and John for the UT-Tech football game down on Washington. Although I had to get up the next morning at 5am for work, I was happy to have a great seat for the game and support Tech. We got there early and got wonderful seats for the game. I am pretty sure Kelly and I were the only Red Raiders in the entire bar.

Towards the end of the month, I got to enjoy a wonderful weekend with my family, while Justin was in a beer pong tournament in Dallas. Justin (obviously) didn't take any pics of his weekend, but Aunt Debbie sent me some pics! We spent Friday night at Anne's with her amazing lasagna and the fixings, followed by too much wine. Saturday, we started out with brunch at my favorite Joe T's with Anne, Carl, Debbie, Travis, and eventually Erin and Chase. Then went back to Debbie's, enjoyed the sun by the pool, dressed up the dogs, decorated for Halloween and had their famous homemade pizza's. I'm a fan. I am so thankful to have my family and even more thankful they are only a drive away.
